Día das Letras Galegas

Today is Galician Literature Day and we celebrate the history and culture of Galicia through its language and literature. It was first celebrated on 17th May 1963 to commemorate the centenary of Cantares Galegos by Rosalía de Castro. Since then every year on this date Día das Letras Galegas is celebrated and dedicated to a different Galician writer or poet.
This year it is the turn of Uxío Novoneyra, a poet and children’s book writer from Lugo, who died in 1999. Here is a beautiful video dedicated to him with images of O Courel, where he was from.
World Book Day

Today is World Book Day and all around the world there are activities and events being held to celebrate the pleasure and knowledge of books.Here at the library we have this beautiful creation which combines a book with a rose which is traditionally given on this day in Cataluña.

Elegi este book porque el titulo me llamo la atencion,and lo cogi. Me fige que tenia 285 paginas and 20 capitulos. Seguro que cuando lo acabe tendre 20 años,ja,ja.
I chose this book because I was attracted by the title and I took it. I noticed that it has 285 pages and 20 chapters. I’m sure that when I finish it I will be 20 years old.
